Okay, I made a pint of yogurt and just took the heating pad off. It's still pretty watery. Did it not work? Should I just let it cool down a few minutes and refrigerate or what?

How watery is it? The longer you incubate it, the thicker it will get. You may want to incubate longer. I wanted to let you know that Marcia found a yogurt maker at Target for $19.99.

I put the heating pad back on it already. What do I do when it's done? Just refrigerate and eat when it's cold enough? Will it thicken at all in the fridge? I made your granola recipe yesterday. AWESOME!! I made peach preserves today (with real sugar) . I can't wait to combine them all for a tasty treat! Thank you so much!!

It will thicken a little in the fridge, but you will see the consistency pretty closely in the jar right after taking the heating pad off. You can put it straight into the fridge when you're done incubating.
I LOVE that granola. You can do fun stuff with it like mix in peanut butter and all kinds of things. I just took two loaves of bread and 5 hotdog buns out of the oven. It smells divine here.

Tina, I'm SHOCKED, just SHOCKED that you eat hot dogs!! I'm sure they're totally nitrate/nitrite/preservative/msg/blahblahblah *free*, right? Tofu dogs or something along those lines? Well, my yogurt did thicken a bit. It was kind of lumpy, but I stirred it real good and it smoothed out some. I didn't love the taste, but I don't love yogurt anyway. I put it with my granola and peach preserves and it wasn't too bad. I could get used to it! I don't have a Target around here, but I could check around and see if another store has a yogurt maker. I'm not sure at this point how often I'm actually going to make it, maybe just when I need it for a recipe or something. It's been a real fun adventure, though! Oh, yes, Tina, you mentioned Stoneyfield yogurt. I'm sure you're aware, but just in case you're not, www.stoneyfield.com has downloadable coupons for their products. I decided to check out the website after seeing a banner pop up on a hs board I was perusing and saw them.

I looked and looked and looked, just ask my 8 y/o grandd, lol. I couldn't find it in the store, so I went through fatwallet.com at the target.com link, for 4.4% cashback, and used the coupon code for a $2 savings . I hate paying shipping, but oh well.

Wow, fatwallet.com is cool! I'd never been there before! Actually I just browsed around but didn't purchase anything.
I went shopping this afternoon and bought some much-needed clothes so the budget is slim for now. (I wish I was - slim, that is. Shopping for new clothes is SO not fun when I feel bulky and 10-15 pounds over my preferred weight.)
I'll have to remember all this, though, for the future.
Thank you!

Trailing off to your clothes shopping experience Paula..... Please let me know if there is anything in particular you are looking for. I have a friend that has rummage sales (selling other peoples' stuff) every weekend during the summer. Because she has sales every weekend, she prices everything really low to clean out the garage and get ready for the next sale. Jeans are $1.00, most shirts 50 cents, sweaters 75 cents to a dollar, dresses $1.00, etc. The most expensive items are like $4.00 - $5.00 for a Columbia winter jacket. This year she has received mountains of clothes to sell. If you want to pm me your size, height, any particular fit issues, and what you are looking for, I will keep an eye out for you. It's kind of hit and miss depending upon what is coming in to the sales, but I've found wonderful, wonderful clothes....for next to nothing. P.S. I'm kind of a clothes "snob"....generally have expensive taste, prefer cotton, wool, silk. You wouldn't get anything ratty looking or from the 80's.

Katie, what a very nice offer! I would really hate for you to have to pack stuff up and mail it to me, but if you happen to come across some nice capris, any color, about size 12, that would be cool! The only thing is, for some reason, God made me with fat calves (even when I'm at a comfortable weight), so I can't wear anything that tapers too much at the bottom. What a dear friend you are!

I'll keep an eye out! Shipping is no big deal, the post office is all of 5 blocks away. Wish I had that "calf problem" instead of stick legs. ;D
