Hi everyone! Haven't been on in a LONG time, but I am glad to see that this place is hopping again. Yay! I have a ? for those who have dehydrators: Which machine do you use and do you love it? I am looking to get one as I am becoming addicted to the flax crakers and granola and I *think* that I am driving my friends crazy that make them. Any machine and/or recipe suggestions? Thanks! Cherise

I use a 9 tray Excaliber and I love it. The air blows from the back evenly across all of the trays and they slide in and out like a drawer. There is no hole in the middle of each tray to deal with either. I have three different recipes drying in mine right now and buckwheat sprouting to put granola in it tomorrow.
Even with three recipes in there, I still have two trays free. It has a temperature control dial to keep the foods from getting too hot as well.

I also use the same one Tina uses and love it!

where did you purchase your Excaliber? And how imperative is it to get the Teflex sheets?

Marcia found them at raw guru online. The teflex sheets came with it and you really need them. Don't try to make crackers without the sheets.

Does the Excaliber dehydrator heat up your house? I have a very inexpensive one and it seems to heat up my one room.
Thanks. April

It does create some heat though not too much. I put mine out in the garage if it is making the house "too hot" or I set it out of the way in one of the bedrooms. Just be careful.... once I put it in my room while I was dehydrating granola and terriyaki almonds and it smelled so good I couldn't sleep!
