Hi Cherise, Funny that you should mention kefir. Marcia just ordered me the 'Mac Daddy' of kefir grains. Yes , there is a difference in grains. I am activating them in milk on the counter right now and they look happy ;D I originally wanted to kefir juice to make a fizzy juice with healthy colonies in it, but now I'm thinking that I may want water kefir grains to get that started. That's another story. Kefir has some great bacteria to recolonize the colon. I'll let you try some when mine is done . It's like a drinkable yogurt that has a little fizz to it.
How's your kombucha??

To me, goat milk tastes like the goat smells true:) and To me, cow's milk tastes like the cow smells! You've got me curious, now. What is it, exactly? -Fermented what-ever-you-want -grains (whole, ground?), What makes it different to yoghurt or sauerkraut, sourdough?

lol Dandelion, I smiled and thought of you when I typed that comment. It's good to *see* you Kefiring milk actually breaks down the lactose and can make it digestable for those that have an intolerance to cows milk. It has some more probiotics in it as well. Personally, I never acquired a taste for any type of milk, so I purchased water kefir grains and I kefir juice and water that has had dried apricots, sugar and ginger soaking in it. I am really enjoying that. Kefired milk also has a carbonation to it. It's very interesting. It has a small alcohol content as well. You can usually get goat milk kefir grains for just the cost of shipping online. Let me know if you'd like to look into it. Tina
