How serious should we be about eliminating aluminum? I'm mostly thinking about aluminum pots and pans, deodorant, etc. And what about body powders and baking SODA, do they have aluminum? I have already switched to an aluminum-free baking POWDER. What about the aluminum cans I buy my canned vegetables in? Should I avoid those??
Is aluminum something we should run from?
Thanks!

Hi Paula, I am very serious about eliminating aluminum. I got rid of all of my pots and pans. I use a Thai deodorant crystal that works great. Aluminum free baking powder is no more expensive than regular baking powder. Baking soda does not have aluminum. I buy cans that have a coating on the inside to keep the aluminum from touching the food. I try not to buy canned food, but stewed tomatoes is something that I need around here. I did recently find them in a glass jar.
I have seen too many people with heavy metals that are very sick. Aluminum and mercury are biggies.

How can I tell if my pots and pans are aluminum?
Is Clabber Girl ok? If not, what brand is better?
I would like to eliminate can food all together. Is glass ok?
Thanks again, laura

I can't tell you how to tell for sure. It's just something that I know. They are light weight and thin usually.
I have not read the ingredients on Clabber Girl, but Rumford makes an aluminum free.
Glass is great!

Thank you very much, Tina! I will have to look into deodorant and canned food alternatives.
I don't know what are good alternatives for cooking pots and pans, though. I don't think I have aluminum, but I do have some non-stick stuff which probably isn't real healthy either.

cheap stainless steel is fine. Cast iron would be my first choice.

I just discovered that the "anodized" cookware, is treated aluminum. I was thinking it might be stainless because it is heavy, but nope. bummer, lol.
