I have been having numbness in the left side of my abdomen for at least a month now, and can't figure out what could be causing it. It is a strange sensation.
I have tried looking it up on the internet, but only found 2 links that mentioned it - one mentioned it as a prodrome to shingles, and one mentioned it as one person's symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency.
I do medical transcription for a neurologist, and while people constantly seem to have numbness in the extremities, so far no one I've typed has had numbness in the abdominal area/torso.
I mentioned it to my family doctor when I was filling in for him (doing his typing while his transcriptionist tended to a family emergency), and he thought numbness in the abdomen sounded very strange. At that time I had only had it a week or two, and he suggested I just wait and see, and said he saw no reason for me to make an appointment to investigate this.
So...I'm hoping that someone will have some suggestions for me. Today I have been noticing that it seems to be getting more "severe."
I am wondering if it would be beneficial to do some type of a cleanse. And if so, what type?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much!!
Mindy
