What can you tell me about candida? I really think my 15 yo ds has it.
He has had some crud on the top of his head for a year or so now. It seems to be kind of like cradle cap to me. He's been using tea tree oil shampoo and rinsing with vinegar and it is getting a little better, but not a lot. For a long time I just thought maybe it was due to adolescence.
He lives - LIVES! - for breads and sugar. I really have to fight him over these things or he'll gorge himself. (My dh buys most of them - not me!)
His tongue is coated white at times.
He's extremely skinny and picky with his food, but eats a considerable amount even though he's thin. He eats some veggies without complaining - raw cauliflower, canned green beans, and tomatoes mostly (okay, I know tomatoes are really a fruit) and he also eats lots of fruits, although I'm aware they're full of sugar, too.
I have been having him eat Dannon plain yogurt with a bit fruit-sweetened jam added to it right before he eats it for a few weeks now. I don't know how well that actually helps, though, without some major food changes to go with it.
I'm wondering how drastic we have to get in order for this to be taken care of if it is really candida. Any suggestions?
Thank you!
Paula

Hi Paula, Does he crave dairy and ice cream? If so, with that information added, you have described candida . Any headaches? How many times a day does he have a BM?
I would start with a very good digestive enzyme. I also recommend a powdered one that you'd have to order through me or another natural health practitioner to help digest the yeast that he currently has. I wish you were closer so I could muscle test him.

Yes, he loves ice cream, too, so I guess that settles it. My older son does take a digestive enzyme that has helped him with his digestion, so I'll get Colin to start on it, also.
I wish we were closer to you, too! It would be great to have you test him for me. Could you give me more information on the powdered enzyme? Is it expensive? Distasteful?

It does not have a taste at all and it is about$22 for one months supply.

Tina, I don't suppose you'd accept a paypal payment, would you? I think I'd like to try it. Would a one-month supply take care of it, or would I need to continue it for several months?
Thanks!

The problem is that the company does not drop ship, so you would have to pay for additional shipping and Marcia would have to agree to ship it. We'll see how she weighs in on this here. One month should make a big difference and possibly cover it as long as it is not deep rooted.

Would it be better to direct order it from somewhere? If you have a web address for a reputable company, I can just get it that way.
Thanks!

You can get it at www.makeripples.com and I THINK Marcia may be able to have this one drop shipped. I was thinking of another company. I'll ask her today if she does not see this first.
