Do you have a dehydrator or will you be using the oven?

I will be using the oven for now. My MIL offered to loan me her dyhydrator. She is in the middle of moving to another house so I am waiting until she is done before asking to borrow it. My oven is electric but I have both regular and convection. Thanks

here's a recipe for fruit leathers. Puree fruit. Spread 3/4 cups on a greased fruit leather tray. (just line a cookie sheet with wax paper). May add spices such as cinnamon to apple leathers. Be creative. flavors are enhanced when dried so if the puree tastes remotely good you will probably have a good fruit leather. This is a great way to use over ripened fruit or leftover cut fruit that no one wants to eat because it has turned dark.
Now can someone tell Holly what temp to set her oven at?

Is fresh fruit or canned fruit the best to use for fruit leather?
TIA

I would think you could use either as long as it doesn't have a syrup which would be high fructose corn syrup. If you use canned, get the kind in its own juice.

Do you have a warming drawer on your oven? the new ovens have those and they work great as a dehydrator

sadly no warming drawers....
I have the older model of the flatop range oven. We are planning on getting an industrial stove/oven that is all gas with electric oven hopefully in a couple of years....
