I always over boil my eggs. I am not good at decided how long they should have been boiled. So I just boil them to death. How do you all boil your eggs???

I get the eggs to a boil and turn them off and put a lid on the pot and let them sit for 20 minutes. That for maybe 12 eggs. If you get eggs that are fresh and wait two to three days then boil them they are easier to peel also. Cyndee

THanks so much. For now I am just using brown eggs from Walmart. I'd love to have chickens or a source for fresh eggs. Someday God will make this possible for us. Well, your method sounds alot better than boiling my to death. ;D -Daisey

Soft boiled -3 minutes, 4 for larger eggs hard boiled - 10 mins. but it doesn't matter if it's longer so long as not ages like 25 mins.
The idea to turn them off a leave sounds good for those who are inclined to forget them in the business of other things, but we are often inclined to leave things to the last minute, so...

yep, i NOW do the same as Katie and Cyndee....before, i was like you, the yolks were just hard nasty grey things and now...ever skeptical me, i had to try it and i was amazed that the yolks were yellow and nice and good and yummy!!!!
I also second the older the eggs, the better they peel.
