Hello, I'm Kirstin...usually go by "Daisey" on the web. I'm married to Jason 5 years this September and we have two boys Nathanael (4 in july) and Jadon (just turned two).... and we also have a little sweetie due in July. Can't wait.

My mom had my little sister when I was 18 years old..... at home. I was really impressed with the way the prenatal care and homebirthing experience went...and decided that I'd do that myself when I was grown.... and I did. So, I've had two home births so far. An 8 pounder and a 10 pounder. ;D

Both births were quite weird and hard. 3 day labors..inconsistent contractions, more than an hour of pushing, and hemmorage afterwards. So, I am really really cleaning up my eating and taking herbs to give myself a shot at a much better birthing experience this time around.

(I'm pretty sure it was the Taco Bell, Schlotkzkies (sp?) and Dr. Peppers that fattened up my 10 pounder. Ha! I had no sense of health through the first two babies)

Sooooooooo...for the last two years we been trying to agressively change our ways of eating..... ( Hi ...my name is Kirstin, a junk food junkie.....I've been clean for 3 days....LOL).....and I wanted to start early with our little kiddos teaching them to eat well. It's been challenging!!!!!! ...... but I am enjoying it all so far. It's an enjoyable journey and we are loving the differences we are feeling in our bodies as we feed it the right things to live on!!!!!!!!!!

I've decided I totally love herbs, and as far as diet...we've just been trying real hard to reach a goal of like 75 percent Natural and God made...to 20 pecent..other stuff. Looking forward to learning about the alkaline/acid diet. That sounds really helathy and do-able.

My husband suffers a severe chronic fatigue syndrome....and a very lagging immune system. ( his mom has Chrone's and his dad has Lupus...and we wonder if he has beginning threatening stages of those??) But he's willing to eat what I put in front of him and take what I suggest. Sweet guy that he is...... What power I hold.

So, I am really looking forward to learning from you all and also sharing the things that God has led me to on our journey of finding health.

I'm so glad you made it over. I have not yet dabbled in herbs much and am looking forward to gleaning some wisdom from you.

I was diagnosed with Lupus 7 years ago and have been completely symptom free for 5 years. I believe that it is due to prayer and being a good steward of my body.

I'm excited to hear your birth story this time. I always wanted to home birth, but I also hemmorhaged after each of my boys.

Hi Daisey. I have Crohn's also and have had a bowel resection taking out over 16 inches of my colon and small intestine...Hope your dh takes care of him self

Hi Kirsten...Have you read The Maker's Diet by Dr. Rubin? He was healed of Chron's disease and it is a biblically based book on nutrition. My uncle suffered many years with that disease and many complications because he would not take care of himself...did all the no no's smoked, drank alcohol like a fish, caffiene, etc. He lost most of his intestines, his stomach, developed diabetes and neurapathy. Had to have a morphine bag implanted in his spine so he could deal with the nerve pain. Crazy huh?!! The book is worth the read...its inspiring...I think I'll re-read it just to keep myself on track.

Also try www.blueribbonbaby.com for great nutrition information while pregnant. Dr. Brewer's web site...over 30 years experience as an OB/GYN and firmly believes nutrition is key to a healthy pregnancy as well as an easier and more productive delivery. I followed his diet by using a daily chart he provides in his book. Of course I allowed my self little indulgences but every day I made sure I got my required nutrients & calories. For a first time mom, I'd say my labor & delivery went extremely well. Had Emily at a birth center...in active labor for 5 hours and pushed 1 hour & 20 minutes because her hand was up by her head making it hard to push her head out. Once I hit 4 cm my uterus just took off like a piston LOL. If the Lord blesses us with another one, I am definitely going to follow the same protocol with my diet...MAYBE a home birth this time.

Welcome! I am yet another homebirther! I also have two boys that were both born at home. John will be 3 in July and Noah is almost 14 months. I also have very long labors(30+ hours) and inconsistent contractions. My first labor was 34+ hours with 1 hour and 40 minutes of pushing. My second labor was 33+ hours with only 23 minutes of pushing! Thank the Lord, I did not hemorage(sp?) with either birth!. I have labored in water with both births but have not yet had a water birth! Maybe someday!

I am, unfortunately, currently a junk food junkie. I am about 40 pounds overweight and want to change my eating habits as well as those of my family.
