This has MSG!!! Boo hoo I use this all the time to make mashed red potatoes. Please tell me I can make this at home without the MSG. I just bought the package thinking it is ok. I looked at it and realized it has MSG.
Thanks

Holly, We order this from Frontier Foods for about 80 cents per package. It has no MSG. The company name is Simply Organic. You may want to try the health food store. I thought I saw a ranch dressing recipe on here. Link anyone?

My in laws get their food from Simply Organic I think. I can ask them to order a batch for me. I didn't join because the cost is very high on the foods I would get. They only do Organic. Have you heard of Something Better Natural Foods co-op? A friend of mine gets hers from this place through a group with no extra charges such as an entrance charge for the group.

I *think* the recipe for the ranch dressing is under the yogurt thread. I'm the one that posted it...let me take a look around.

Aha! It was under the "homemade dressings" thread.
Here's a recipe for Ranch Dressing:
5 tbl instant minced onion 4 tsp salt 1 tsp garlic powder 7 tbl parsley flakes
Mix all together and store in a cool, dry place in a covered container. To prepare, combine 2 tbl of the mix with 1 cup mayo and 1 cup buttermilk. Sour cream may be substituted for the buttermilk.
Katie's revisions:
I cut the salt in half. I've used granulated garlic with fine results. I've used equal parts mayo and sour cream for a veggie dip. I use plain non-fat yogurt as a substitute for sour cream.
