I am back from the drs. I am on something like prilosec for my upset stomach, she thinks that because Im on 1200 calories, my stomach is empty a lot, so the stomach lining is pre-ulcer and its causing the upset stomach. My sugars looked pretty good with her, I didnt have super highs, and I didnt have super lows. She did a blood test to check my average for the last 3 months, and also is rechecking my thyroid. We went over what I eat, and then she was upset that I only wrote down the first couple of weeks and stopped. So she wants me back to measuring, weighing and writing it down. She thinks my body just likes the weight its at, so I either will have to break through that or just accept it lol. I have lost 9lbs in a yr since seeing her, and shes happy with that, even though I only lost 2lbs in 2 months since starting 1200 calories. She thinks because Im not measureing/weighing and writing down that Im getting too many calories again. I have to up my workouts and make them more extreme too. Oh my blood pressure went down too, though not high (2 months ago it was 118/80) today it was 110/77. But overall she says things are looking much better. I call her next week to let her know if the meds do work on my stomach or not, she said it will take a few days, but by next week they should be working. It will be nice not to have an upset stomach! Now just to watch those sugars!

Yeah!!
I'm so glad to hear good news. So then no meds for the time being?
The other thing with your stomach, could be allergy related or gall bladder related or both...I had ALL kinds of allergies that I didn't know about until I started losing weight and after eliminating a few I got a bit better and after cleansing my gall bladder got all the way better.
I was on something after Sarah was born for a couple of months for acid reflux and it helped to a certain degree, kinda took the edge off the pain for a couple of years so I didn't really notice it...but now I that I don't have any pain, it's SO different and so much better.
Thanks for the update and sorry about thinking you'd stopped your herbals, it seem like you said that in one of the venting posts...I must have read it wrong.

thanks. i stopped for a few days to see if it was doing anything. making my stomach upset, keeping my sugars stabale...just anything.
dr wants me completely off white flour, white sugar, fake sugar and dairy. she thinks it may be part of my upset stomach. i asked her about a book that i had about how you eat certain foods together...like so many proteins with so many starches..she said i could try it and see what happened, just keep a close eye on my sugars.
ive had this upset stomach for so long, i dont remember what its like not to have one!
so today i blew it and had a bad bfast, and a bad lunch, dinner is going to be bad too (we have 2 football games, so im makign sub sandwiches to munch on). but have vowed that tomorrow i will start completely over, though i do want to read that book to see what i can get from it, and attempt it (cant start it til i read it lol).
i need to come up with something different for bfasts, usually i have no sugar oatmeal and a yogurt...but she says to change it to something like eggs..i cant eat eggs every morning, so i need to come up a few different ideas to eat.

I eat eggs almost every morning...one thing that really helped was to ditch the scrambled eggs...I got so sick of those.
I was one of those that REALLY didn't like the yokes to move at all, I thought that was just gross.
But then a friend made me a salad with a vinegarette dressing on it and topped it with a fried egg cooked about medium...warm but definately still runny...it was so good all mixed in, kind of like another ingredient in the salad dressing.
So now I actually like fried eggs a little runny, with a little cheddar cheese and salt and a couple of grinds of garlic pepper. They have these grinder shakers at my walmart...it's a clear bottle with a black grinder top...and there are a couple of different kinds, like pizza seasoning etc...that might also be good.
I also like poached eggs and a while ago I made a mock bernaise sause that was something like butter, cream, garlic and lemon juice in the blender...it was pretty good and I can look it up if you are interested.
Anyway, I've also heard that you can make ground flax into a hot cereal, I haven't tried it yet, but it's something like pour boiling water over about 1/2 cup of ground flax until you have it a consistancy that you like then add cream, cinnamon and powdered stevia (or sugar I suppose) and it's supposed to be pretty good. Ground flax has more omega 3s than oats and more fiber, so less digestible carbs than oats. That extra fiber can help clean out any "problems" that you may have in the intestinal track too.
ETA...just re-read the no dairy part...but you could use soy cream or coconut milk too. Yogurt was EVIL when I was fighting with my gall bladder...although once I cleansed it doesn't bother me anymore at all.

yep no dairy..i eat cheese with my eggs, otherwise i cant handle the taste. i do the grinded pepper too. ever since discovering them lol. we have one with different types of peppercorns. i cant handle runny eggs either. im also allergic to eggs, so eating htem everyday is out of the question..i can handle a couple times a week, but thats it. i know..my body is picky! i have some flaxseed here, though havent tasted it. cant have the artifical sweetners either...shes cutting me off them to see if my stomach is upset from that. i drink quite a bit of watered down crystal light..but i dont think thats it, but ill humor the dr

Stevia is NOT an artificial sweetener it's an herbal that the FDA says is only a supplement, although for what I don't know.
I use it as a sweetener because I can't have much sugar (basically a couple tsp in tea a couple times a week) and I'm allergic to all artificial sweeteners...they make me PASS OUT...oh and mess with my thyroid so that I'm freezing (before I figured it out I couldn't get my temp above 96) and can't sleep.
Crystal light really could be part of your problem...I think it's sweetened with aspartame and as I understand it aspartame is basically paint thinner. If you look up aspartame side effects or toxicity OR artificial sweetener toxicity I think you'll be surprised the amount of problems attributed to them...INCLUDING wacky blood sugar in diabetics.
Stevia also has some potential for allergy...it's in the same family as ragweed, so folks with that allergy could have problems with it.
My favorite cold drink other than water is lemon water
Take a 32 oz glass, fill it with ice then water Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon into it Add two squirts of liquid stevia (or to taste)
I don't like the packets of stevia myself...they're cut with something that makes them a tad bitter for me, but they are handy for my purse in case I want some in a pinch...oh and they have fiber too.

One other question...how long have you been allergic to eggs and what are your symptoms?
I thought I was too for a while. When I found out that many of my problems were gall bladder related I also found out that one of the number one triggers for gall bladder attack in even people who had never been allergic was eggs...I also though I was lactose intolerant, but that turned out to be gall bladder too.
I only mention it because so many people who low carb lose weight so fast that they accumulate gall stones because of toxins being released into the body. Most of the time the stones are not caused BECAUSE of low carb, but the increase in protein and fat make the stones show up in the form of at least gastric distress because of the extra need for bile to process the protein and fat.

the dr was wondering if my upset stomach was from gall bladder, then she asked me a million questions, and the way my stomach is upset, isnt gall bladder. ive been allergic to eggs all my life..i get allergy shiners under my eyes something horrible, then eventually i start getting hives on my back (if i eat too many or too many days of them), i do the same thing with fish..only i just get hives right away. i cant get stevia unless i online order, and dh has stopped my online ordering right now. ive gone weeks with no crystal light and the upset stomach didnt go away, so im pretty sure its not that. but i will give it up..sigh. lol. im not a total water lover, after awhile i just feel waterlogged. due to kidney stones im supposed to drink 160oz of water a day. i also am supposed to drink some lemon water as its a good abrasive, but finding lemons..that arent dried up...around here are hard to do. and i have a hard time just drinking lemon water..i prefer it to be lemonade, so i was just putting some lemon concentrate into my crystal light. as i was telling dh everything i cant eat and i still have to stay at 1200 calories he goes...has she (my dr) ever done your diet? its hard enough staying at 1200 calories but now you cant have dairy, flours, sugars...what can you eat? lol. hes right, this is going to take some adjusting thats for sure. ive decided that my dairy, 2 starch servings are going towards meat though...that way i can have meat for bfast, lunch and dinner (2 oz for bfast, 3 for lunch and dinner). that might help me a bit more. ill figure this all out eventually lol. so far the pill she gave me hasnt helped..but i figured it wouldnt work the first day!
