It's been so long since I've posted here, but I've been trying to catch up with reading all your posts lately.
Okay, I'm 45 and starting to have some night sweats (not TOO bad) and I get hot/cold/hot/cold all day long it seems like. I don't know if that's a part of menopause or not. The days between my periods have gotten two days shorter over the past few months - from 28 days to 26. Still regular, but shorter between days. I can't tell if my moods are getting worse because I've always been moody. ;D
Anyway, does it sound like I might be starting peri-menopause?
My main question is about water retention. I will NOT say how much I weigh right now, but it's more than I'm comfortable with. I'd like to lose 15 pounds. Last month, I topped out at *** pounds during my period and thought I'd lose at least three or four pounds during the month after it was over. Well, I never lost those three or four pounds. So I thought - Christmas weight - and I was so afraid that I'd be three or four pounds even HEAVIER this period. But I wasn't. I stayed the same weight all during the time right before my period and all throughout the week. Not a pound was gained (or lost). So now I'm wondering if I've just been retaining water all month.
I feel so fat. My face is fat and my clothes don't fit right. I want to lose weight!
Is there a natural diuretic I can take? I'm doing the vinegar thing every day. I thought that would help. I haven't increased my salt intake any more than normal and I'm doing *fairly well* with my sugar intake. Still working on the high fructose corn syrup thing. Maybe it's just fat and not water.
Rambling, rambling...in a hurry to get food on the table for hungry kids.
