Tina, I'm not sure what all you're studying regarding hormone replacement, but I'm interested in a discussion about it, too.
Discussion #1:
I recently started ordering progesterone cream from this place:
www.womhoo.com
The ingredients are simply - 800 mg/oz USP Pharmaceutical Grade Natural Progesterone from Yams and
Coconut Oil
The doctor who sells this particular cream really cautions against xenoestrogens and lists a lot of them to avoid.
So, I'm very interested in hearing your opinions and having some discussion about his viewpoints regarding these things.
Discussion #2:
A friend of mine had been using natural progesterone for many years, like me, and recently went to a naturopathic doctor who ran some tests (I don't have any idea what kind) and told her that she had entirely too much progesterone in her system and took her off of it. I have been under the impression that using natural progesterone cream, even from the time of being a teenager until you're old, was okay for most women! It seems, if I remember right, that the book, "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause" indicated this. What are your thoughts about this? Are there tests I could administer on myself that would indicate if I have too much progesterone in my system or not?
Discussion #3:
At the other end of the spectrum, my 9 yo dd has started developing and I really, really wish she could just "stay little a little longer" (to quote Gerbert from lo those many years ago when my 18 yo ds was young and watching Gerbert videos). In the last year or so, we have started eating grass-fed/finished meats and drinking raw milk and eating fresh eggs from a friend's chickens. We are consuming much less hormones in our food than we used to, but is it too late for my dd and her recent developments?? And, oh, the mood swings. It's really sad when a 9 yo girl's life is just about over, you know, because life is just so awful and terrible. Is there anything more I can be doing for her? What exactly causes girls to develop and start her period (which she hasn't yet) and get into the mood swings? Is it estrogen? Or what?
Okay, those are all my questions for the moment. Thanks!!
Paula
