I have my son on a gluten free diet... most of the time. We still indulge in junk food from time to time and when that happens I give him an enzyme to help him digest the protein. It seems to keep him from "tripping". So, what's your opinion on using enzymes? If anyone has used them, which ones?

I think that enzymes are very helpful if you don't eat enough raw foods to fill your enzyme bank. I have been muscle tested for them and don't need them. If I had a client that was very acidic, I would tell him/her to use enzymes until they could become more alkaline. The alkalinity is very important for digesting protein . The protein is what depletes our alkaline balance, so my long answer is yes, I feel that enzymes are necessary in some instances.

Where would we get these enzymes? Is there a certain brand that is better than others?

You'll get tons of enzymes from the recipes in the Rejuvenation diet book you just bought. I'll PM you some companies that I like for enzymes in pill form. I don't want to promote any companies on the board.

Thanks Tina... another question now... can we over-do the pill form of enzymes?

yes, you can. I can muscle test you to see how much you need or if you even need them at all.

I have never heard of muscle testing before. How is it done? Who should I ask to preform it? What should I expect to pay? And could you pm me also the list of enzyme companies?

Muscle testing is formally called Kinesiology. You have to be careful who you choose to do it first of all. It can be very New Agey.It usually cost about $60 an hour to see a ND, or you can also find some holistic or chinese medicine docs that do this. I can't emphasize enough to be careful who you let put their hands on you. Ask tons of questions before making your appointment . Find out what their beliefs are and use discernment when in their office. I have left in the middle of an appointment in the past when I realized that I had taken my son to a ND that was Wiccan.
This is the concept. Magnets have electromagnetic activity which will force them apart if the poles are opposite.
Humans also have electromagnetic energy that is unique to each person. Foods also have their own electromagnetic energy.
Certain foods have an electromagnetic energy that does not agree with the person's energy causing a food allergy . In most cases it is just a nutrient deficiency. It can get very complicated when you are trying to use it for diagnosis, but when you are testing to find out how much of an enzyme your child will need or if he needs it at all, it is pretty straight forward.
I am going to try to explain this as clearly as I can, but I may have to call you and talk you through it. You really can do this simple testing yourself.
Have your son extend his arm in front of him parrallel to the floor. With three fingers, press down on his left arm (the extended one) two inches above the wrist while telling him to resist your pressure. That will be your baseline. To test his lack of resistance, touch the bridge of his nose with the fleshy part of your index finger and while doing that , press his arm down again. He should not be able to resist you because that is the reflex point for muscle weakness. That will give you more confidence in your testing when you see it work.
Then ,place one enzyme tablet in his left hand and tell him to hold it close to his abdomen and test him. Keep adding pills until he tests strong. If his reflex never changes , he does not need those enzymes. You can also test him at the times that he eats the foods that you feel he needs enzymes with .
You can also do searches online and learn about Kinesiology. You will see lots of negative because the medical profession does not believe in it. Well, some do. Dr Don Colbert whom some of you have seen on TV or read his books does muscle testing regularly on his patients.
Any more questions, just ask.

I forgot to add. Make sure that no one else is touching your child when you test him. It can give you the other person's results.
