Just when I thought I knew it all, I got a new cookbook today. I made popped wheat and seeds and they are JUST like canned nuts from the store. They even taste bad for you and Jesse likes them so they MUST taste normal! 1 cup of wheat of your choice 1 cup brown rice 1/4 cup sesame seeds 1 cup sunflower seeds 1 cup pumpkin seeds Dry pop seeds and grains , one type at a time in a heavy skillet (you will hear and see them popping) Mix all together. this mixture is good without salt or seasonings, but if desired season. I sprayed the popped wheat and nuts with coconut oil and then shook them in sea salt. It was like a party mix. I am very happy with them. You can also BBQ Seed Mix 1 cup basic mix 1/2 t beef flavored bouillon 2T dry BBQ seasoning combine all ingredients , then spray seeds and grains with enough cooking spray to make seasonings stick Chinese seed mix 1 cup basic mix 1/3 t ginger 1 c chinese noodles 1t chicken flavored bouillion 1T soy sauce 1cup freeze dried peas mix and heat in skillet 1-2 minutes to dry out moisture

How did you "spray" coconut oil?

Publix has these oil sprayers. I put the virgin coconut oil in them. You pump the top which pressurizes the container and spray the oil. The only problem is that if your house is cold, the oil will harden. You can liquifey it by running it under hot water.

It's better than the microwave which I also confess to doing in a hurry
