Ok, I am putting together my very first bulk order, and I am trying to plan ahead.
Tell me about rice. I know white rice is processed to death, and void of any real nutritional value.... What kind of rice is good, and why? Here is what I have to chose from in my catalog........
All below are certified Organic: Basmati, Brown: What is this like? Long, Brown: Short Brown: Jasmine Brown Jasmine White Long White: Short White:
I can order this in #25 or #50 lb bags.
I was thinking of going to the Wild Oats store in town and buying some of each type and trying it at home before I committed to a 25lb bag. Please do tell what you know about rice! Thanks!

Brown rice does go rancid, so how quickly would you use it? Jasmine rice is polished and not any better than white rice.

10 pounds would last me 3-4 months. Will brown rice go bad in that amount of time?
What is my best bet for storage?

It should last about 6 months.

I buy the organic brown basmati rice and LOVE it! I also love the smell throughout the house as it's cooking, but my dh hates it. Funny!
