Hey there again,
My grandmother 10 years ago had to have a breast removed for cancer. Then she had rounds of radiation and chemo. It was all very difficult for her.
Then this month..ten years later (at 73 years old)....she went through all of it again for the other breast. SHe's actually quite vibrant and young looking for her age. You wouldn't know she's 73! She looks like a youthful 60 something aged lady.
She's always had the typical American diet...but the last 7 or so years as delicately and hesitantly tried to let herself get introduced to some herbal things and supplements, to nutrition and a little juicing.
One of the things she thinks is so wonderful for her is a supplement called "Juice Plus". I am not so sure. Especially since after taking it 7 years...she still got cancer on the other breast.
Anyhoo...I am just now trying to introduce her to the need of eating this alkaine way. I told her to at least try. At least try and start with 75 percent alkaline and the rest acid. But she is cooking for a stubborn "old school" Typical American Grandpa who won't settle for anything out of routine. So this makes it hard on her, chef and eating wise.
She called me yesterday and said that she realizes the importance of healthy eating ...and wants to know more of what she can do for herself to keep her cancer at bay.
How can I help her? What do you think I should influence her with the most..to start in a solid direction?
She's very timid. She's NOT able to read a computer (get involved in this message board)..and she's a tiny bit skeptacle about not following a doctor's advice. And also my Grandfather's totally a follow the doctor kind of man, and pushes her to go with the flow.
She's really new to all of this. The doctors have been pushing her to take a chemical drug to stave off cancer ...and for the first time in her life she's said no thank you I want to try this a natural way. I was amazed.
The doctor asked what she intend to do...and she mentioned healthy eating and herbs. The doctor was not happy kept saying that's not enough, and that many herbs cause a rise in estrogen which is causing her caner. He even told her to stay away from Vitamen C.
So she's all worked up and worried now, and wants to know what is safe and what is not...and if she is going to try to go natural ..what should she be doing for herself.
So.......That was long winded but... Can you please fire away all the helpful and probably obvious things I should be guiding her in? I want to do a good job helping her and want her to be able to see a difference in her health.
I also want her to get off of splenda..but my very stubborn grandfather hails it as healthy (he's a diabetic)and so she is rather convinced there is nothing wrong with it.
Well, There my story...any help would be lovely....
Thanks so much...
