I just got through reading the www.rawmilk.org website and there are two raw milk suppliers relatively close to me, at not too bad a price, i think she said 3.95 a gallon if we supply our own container, which has to be a wide mouth glass jar....(any clue where to find a few?) Anyway, i was reading that about Crohn's disease and also on dr. Mercola's site about raw milk and crohn's disease and also the book Patient Heal Thy Self where it supports raw milk, organic eggs two per day, cod liver oil, and then "his" supplements, which i am going to "ignore, LOL" So, is it possible to get the same health benefits, intestinal benefits included and my main concern, from the expeller pressed coconut oil or would i *have* to get the virgin coconut oil? Dh has given me the go ahead to come up with a budget for what i would need for me to do the coconut oil, the two eggs daily ( have a friend here locally who does the eggs), the raw milk and possibly the cod liver oil, although i have heard how horrid that stuff is.... can you think of anything else supplement-wise, that i might be able to use? TIA

You could try the expeller, but the EVCO is really more pure. Did you read the link I sent you recently about psyllium seed being good for Crohns? That is relatively cheap....

Don't buy the powder. Make sure it's the husk.I'm also working on a class today that talks about Crohn's . I'll come back here and post what I learn. How is your daughter?

the only thing I can think of is one of those big pickle jars that you get from Sam's Club.
Don't forget to skim the cream off the top and make butter or use it for your coffee.

I never thought of those jars, but ya know what else would work? They make glass Kool aide type jars with a spout on the side. Those would work and would be cheaper than that glass jar. I thought that jar was expensive.

Does it have to be a gallon size? I got some wide mouth half gallon mason jars at my grocery store. They always carry the quart and pint size, but only rarely have the half gallon size. If your grocery store carries them, maybe you could ask them to order the larger size for you. Also some hardware stores like Ace Hardware carry mason jars.

Samantha, Raw milk will last about a week. You may find that you like it so much you go through it faster than that!

Samantha,
I work in a restaraunt, and our cherries / olives / and something else comes in those wide mouth glass gallon jars. You could pop in and ask them if they have any you can take / or if they would take your name, and save them and you come back in a few days when one is available!!
We save corks for people......empty wine bottles (for decorating)......all kinds of crazy stuff like that. And we don't charge them anything!
It may be worth the ask!!
