I'm sure Katie could tell more about the science of her soap, but I will tell you that it smells divine and the bars last a long time. I am spoiled by the bath bombs and find myself craving a hot bath with one after a stressful day. I'll leave the rest to Katie's description.
Katie, What's your link?

Here's the link to our website: www.lancastersoapcompany.com/A little bit of information about me and our business... I've been making soap for about 9 years. It started as a fascination with the process and a desire to use more natural products. The first few years were devoted to research and product development. I loved reading about the properties of various oils and herbs! I made a lot of soap during that time, continually tweaking and "perfecting" our formula. I gave away a lot of soap during those early years! Our business was officially established in late 2000 and has flourished through God's grace and His promise of provision. I left corporate employment in August 2001 to stay home with our daughters. The business helps sustain us and it is my hope that it will also be a source of income for our daughters as they enter adulthood. We have had a number of exciting opportunties this year! First, I'm delighted to be part of this co-op. I love to share my (our) work with others. We are also teaching soapmaking classes and are scheduled to do demonstrations over the summer months as part of an historic estate's centennial celebration. That is going to be fun! We will be dressed circa 1900. I'm actually trying to track down a "cauldron" for the demonstrations. We are hoping to expand our herb gardens substantially this year. It's always a challenge though as our growing season is so short in northern Minnesota. We are blessed to have some master gardeners mentoring us as we learn and grow. (Pun intended!) And finally, our website is going to have some significant changes over the next couple months. We have nearly doubled the number of different soaps we offer and have added many other new products. You'll see the shea body butter and bath bombs listed out there soon! I would be happy to answer any questions about the history or chemistry of soapmaking. Talking about soap is pure delight for me! I feel richly blessed and am grateful for an endeavor that inspires such passion and allows me to be at home. Blessings, Katie

Katie, my whole front courtyard is herbs! I have a rosemary hedge, arugula, cilantro , spearmint (that I dearly love in tea), terragon, thyme, oregano and parsley. I also have several types of basil. We are in the process of fixing it up to make it prettier.I'll post pictures when I'm done!

A rosemary HEDGE? Oh my - I can only dream of such things. Our rosemary did ok last year, but our climate is so different. "Ok" for us means that our rosemary was about a foot tall. ;D It's hard to winter over rosemary indoors up here. Mine is all but dead. My lemon balm and lavender didn't fare well either. Now spearmint on the other hand is wonderful. Of course all the mints are so easy. I'm allowing it to take over a rather ugly spot under one side of our deck. Our tarragon is flourishing. I'm hoping to get more Russian sage and bee balm this year. I would love to see pictures of your herb gardens!
