Tina,
I'm going to send you a couple "Bug Dope Sticks" to test for me. (Please??) I just made some up tonight. What they are: A solid lotion in a sort of giant lip balm tube, the kind where you twist on the bottom to move the product up. Nice oils, loaded with eucalyptus, peppermint, lemongrass and citronella essential oil. I rather like the solid form as you can just uncap it, rub it directly on your ankles or where-ever without getting your hands all yucky.
So far it seems to be working on MN mosquitoes, but the 'squitoes up are are small compared to the ones in FL!

Great! My dh came home from fishing last night and told me that the "don't bug me" was working great. He said he usually gets attacked when he comes on to land and that they didn't bother him. I'll have my friend who lives right next to a swamp and can't let the kids go out in the afternoon give it a try also.

An explanation:
I made the "Don't Bug Me" soap at the request of a friend. Although I had doubts about a product that washes off being effective, people tell me it does help when used continuously. I do know of one gentleman that wets the bar, then rubs it on his skin but doesn't rinse it off. He swears by it.
I wanted something even more concentrated (and less messy) and came up with the "Bug Dope Sticks".
The "Don't Bug Me" spray is just that - a spray that you can use on your skin.
Personally, I think I'm going to like the sticks the best.

my guess is that this will turn out to be very successful, and *I* think you should plan on making these available very soon for us to buy! I'm ready to buy one now! seriously

I'm just hazarding a guess here Sam. I rely on friends and family as my team of lab rats. My guess would be the solid lotion stick would be more effective as it is concentrated, doesn't evaporate. The mosquitoes just hatched up here so we're still comparing. (This is the first season I've offered the bug dope sticks.)
