I received a PM that has me thinking this is where I need to post this question.
Since the week of June 20, the weather has been humid and horribly hot. I have hystoplasmosis in my lungs, and have had since I was a small child. This makes breathing difficult in extreme weather. So I have been struggling to breathe outside....
BUT, I will get internally hot....my face and neck do NOT turn red, but I feel like I am running a fever. I get dizzy, and feel like I am going to throw up. This happens when I am doing house work in the mornings especially. But happens in the evenings when I am at work too.
And to make matters worse, in the last 3-4 days certain smells make me want to puke. Today's smell is the cake in the oven right now....it's gagging me. Last night it was the taco seasoning in the taco meat. One day it was my daughters body spray..........
Ok. NO possible way I am pregnant, please, you will have to trust me when I say, there is NO WAY I am pregnant. Ok. Now that that's clear.......
Am I losing my mind? Is stress making me go crazy? Am I 'hormonal"?
HOW do I make this stop?
Laura

How old is this person? Could it be a hormone imbalance?

It could most definitely be a hormone imbalance. Do you have an MD that can check your levels or are you trying to figure it out on your own?

My last visit to the OBGYN was 5 years ago. Last year I called to make an appointment, and my OB has MOVED TO DENVER!!!! Colorado is too far for me to drive, and I am to scared to fly, and he is the ONLY person that I have ever seen. He delivered all 3 of my babies, and tied my tubes!! HE IS WONDERFUL..........and now he's 22 hours away from me!
My girlfriends OB sounds like a real neat guy. I am going to get his number off of her and make an appointment.
I don't want to take "meds" per-say I would really like to take care of any problem the natural way if it's all possible.. Laura

Laura, You can definitely take care of your hormones naturally, but it does help to get bloodwork and know where you are. Most likely, progesterone cream will help you. You could just pick some up at the health food store and give it a try.

All 3? At the same time? I think I would go into shock!! (he he)
I went to work last night, and the new waitress I have been training asked me how I was feeling.....and I told her better........and she told me that for the last 3 days, she has felt exactly the same as I.......sick to her stomach, certain smells gag her, internally hot but no fever... Maybe I had a bug? I suppose it's possible. I work in the public, I could have picked up something funky. I have been around my girlfriends daughter, who is at daycare 3X a week...I could have picked up something from her.......
I am still going to make an OB appointment. Laura

Laura, I think that is an excellent idea. It is really important to keep up with those appoinments... you never know what could be going on.. I understand your concerns about seeing a new gyn, but the hard part is showing up the first time.. once you do that.. you will feel better just by having gone and gotten it all over with.. KWIM?? Keep us posted! Cherise

I visited my GP today. He drew blood and took urine........we should know something in 2 days. I am going to visit my best friends OB Wednesday and have my annual exam done. I will ask him about hormone imbalance then.
Then on Tuesday, Aug 2nd, I go BACK to my orthopediac surgen to read my MRI, and see how bad my knee is messed up!!
So if you would pray for wisdom for all doctors and lab techs involved, and that I would listen to God's still small voice thru all of this........I would appreciate it. Thanks Laura

Report!
I have had a slew of people praying for wisdom and answers. I saw an OB today, my first visit (new guy). He is wonderful. We sat in his office, had a chat, I had my annual exam, then back to his office for a closing chat. I asked him if I could have a "hormone imbalance". He explained to me that ((this is the short version)) because I have had children (fertility) and because my periods are regular and normal, that my body is working like it is supposed too. If my hormones were out of balance, my periods would be all out of wack / I would do the 'peaks and valley' in mood swings / and hot flashes. He said that my hormones, are fine.
This is a HUGE sigh of relief!
Now I have to wait for my GP to call with the blood test results! I will exhaust every angle to find out what is going on. Next, I will go get allergy tested if I must!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your prayers!!
Laura

Laura, I'm glad that you got some answers. I am looking forward to hearing about your bloodwork. I do want to caution you that allopathic Doctors are in an old school mindset about hormones. There is a lot of estrogen dominance going on in women due to the added hormones in our meats and milk. If you don't get answers on the bloodwork, I would encourage you to read What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause. It's very enlightening.
