Hi, our 9 year old, is going to see her neurologist tomorrow morning and then probably have an EEG right afterwards. She had febrile and absence seizures mostly as a baby, with the last one at age 4. Elizabeth has been having terrible headaches since January, We have been to the pediatrician, Chiropractor and Tina. Tina pinpointed a possible digestive problem. Elizabeth went 2 weeks without a headache following Tina's advice. She stopped a few days ago to see if that was what was helping and the headaches came back. She asked to resume Tina's advice after only 2 days.
Tuesday I got a call from the school to pick her up because her head and stomach hurt. When I got there she was as pale as I have ever seen her. She said it was hard to breathe and her chest hurt. (She was not struggling to breathe though) I drove straight to the Dr. She passed out on the way and did not come around until I carried her in the waiting room. She then passed out again while in the exam room. The dr. had trouble arousing her and almost sent us to the ER. Elizabeth started acting perfectly fine after 30 minutes. Dr. said possible seizure, heart arythmia or low blood sugar or a simple faint. She took a fasting blood glucose this am. After breakfast she got a little weak and tired so I took her to Mease contryside ER. They did an EKG that came out fine so we are looking into possible resumption of seizure activity. The Dr. there called her old nuerologist who asked us to bring her in tomorrow. We have been waiting to get in to see him since mid Feb. and had 2 more weeks til her appointment so this is good. Please pray for her.
Thanks, Nancy
