Hi --
I'm beginning to show signs of aging. My mom, who was a very beautiful young woman (according to her pictures), definitely looks her age at 71. She has never smoked or abused drugs and so on, but she has had a hard life in an unhappy marriage, arthritis, etc. I don't know if that has anything to do with how she has aged or not.
I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to prevent looking so "old" when I'm old. I'm almost 47 and have started getting the wrinkles around my eyes and - worst of all - those deep lines that go from my nose down to my mouth. U-G-L-Y. I don't feel pretty at all anymore when I see myself in the mirror. (I've never been a beauty queen, but you know what I mean!)
I've been washing my face with Katie's soaps for over a year now and have been using monoi oil (thanks to Katie also) as a moisturizer. I'm trying to switch over to mineral makeup, but don't use much besides powder, blush, under-eye concealer and a bit on my eyes.
We have greatly improved our eating habits over the past year and a half or so, so I feel fairly good about that. Some habits are hard to break, though, so we're still working on some things nutritionally.
A few years ago, I heard about a lady that sold a video called "Facercize" - exercises for facial muscles. I don't see her anymore and I never really thought she looked real great - her face just looked real muscular to me! Is there any benefit from facial exercises?
Am I destined for wrinkles?? Or is there something I could be doing?
Thanks!
Paula
